there is also a rare version of the shield called the "Amethyst Aegis" which CAN be dyed:http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Amethyst_Aegis .This may actualy be a rare skin since none of you heard of it...

I have definitely not heard of this. But based on the illustrated example, even though it's dyeable, it's not entirely possible to remove the amethyst color out of a amethyst aegis. lol.

My friend had an inscribable amerthyst drop for him in a dungeon and hes currently using on his female monk. Looks really nice. For those wanting to know that green shield drops from duncan the black at the end of the elite mission.

Thankye very much Darkobra.... and I would like to take this oppurtunity to note that I really do NOT like the look of that shield.... irrespective of colour.
